The warm touch of sun is calling as the bay comes to life with excitable shrieks of a brilliant catch. Featuring one of the best piers along the coast, Lorne is home to outstanding offshore fishing. A popular destination amongst avid amateur fisherman, Lorne is an area renown for its ripe selection of Barracuda, bream, flathead, King George whiting, mullet, brown trout, silver trevally, snapper, garfish, Australian salmon, squid and an array of marvelous shark species. The fresh water systems of the glorious Erskine falls and St George Rivers have also the elusive trout in their waters. With glorious weather Lorne’s bay is the ideal spot for a relaxing solo fishing trip or a whole family adventure. Please note, a recreational fishing license can be easily obtained from the Lorne Visitor Information Centre.

Home to a variety of elusive fish including, Blue sharks, Gummy sharks and the occasional snapper, Louttit bay promises hours of thrilling fishing. Best at nightfall you’ll be awed as the light on the pier illuminates the coastline.
